Industrial enterprises increased prices by 1.3% in January
The prices of industrial production increased, in January, by 1.3% compared to the end of the previous year. Compared to January 2006, the prices of industrial production increased by 9.7%.
According to the systematised data from the central bank, in January, in the main industrial sector – the processing one – prices rose by 1.6%, with the highest rises being registered in the chemical industry (15.2%), production of clothing articles, preparation and colouring of furs (13.3%), production of distilled alcoholic beverages (4.6%), tobacco products (3.4%), tire and plastic material products (2.8%), milling products (2.7%), other non-metal mineral products (1.5%), backed goods (1.4%).
In the mining industry prices increased by 3.3%, and for electric and thermal energy, gas and water – 0.1%.
In January, inflation was registered at 0.9%. Compared to January 2006, inflation stood at 13%.
According to the data of the National Statistics Bureau, the tendencies to diminish industrial production volumes continued in January. In this period, industrial enterprises of all ownership forms made products of a total value of 1558.52 million lei in current prices, and the index for the volume of industrial production compared to January 2006 constituted 89.8%.
