The share of European medicines on the Moldovan market in 2016 rose to almost 70% from 57% in 2015, IPN reports, quoting a report by the Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices, IPN reports.
Over 1,000 drugs were authorized for sale in 2016. Of these, over 600 are generic, more than 200 are original, while almost 200 are homeopathic or from plants.
The Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices said there was worked out the first information system “Management of Medical Devices” of the Republic of Moldova, which will be launched this year.
According to the data presented in the report, doctors, pharmaceutical companies and patients last year reported 278 cases of side effects of pharmaceutical preparations. The figure is lower compared with other countries.
A number of 95 reports were compiled in 2016 over violation of the rules of issuing drugs, including psychotropic ones, and of medicine keeping rules, over pharmaceutical activity carried out by non-specialists, etc.
