The issue on including Maximovca village, Anenii Noi raion, into Chisinau municipality could become political, not administrative. The commission for budget, economy, finances and local public patrimony of CMC did not approve a draft decision on the problem, although suggested to the local authorities to negotiate the idea of including Maximovca village into Chisinau municipality with the CMC factions’ leaders, to obtain a positive result. Even if the local authorities presented, at the solicitation of the specialized commission, materials regarding the local budget for 2005 and the operative report for the I trimester of 2006, only two of those 5 members present at the meeting of the commission voted for including the locality into the municipality, and three councilors abstained. Justifying their decision, they stated that Chisinau city is not so prosperous to afford the luxury of taking the burden of one more locality. The Mayoralty of Maximovca justifies its intention by the availability of many economic agents of the small and medium business to invest into the locality, in case it becomes a part of the municipality. Maximovca village has 1750 inhabitants and is at a 15 km distance from Chisinau. At present, Chisinau municipality includes 33 localities, inclusively 6 towns and 11 communes.
