In the last several years Moldova made significant progresses in migrants protection
During the last several years, Moldova made significant progresses in the multilateral development of the country, inclusively in the area of migrants’ protection and the fight with the human trafficking, mentioned the head of the Organization for International Migration (OIM) mission in Moldova, Martin Andreas Wyss, at a meeting with the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev.
According to the representative of OIM the diminishing of the human trafficking indexes is a result of decreasing the poverty level in Moldova and the joint activities undertaken by the specialized NGOs.
At the same time, Martin Andreas Wyss gave a positive appreciation to the legislative background regarding migration, mentioning the importance of the laws’ implementation.
The head of the Executive also gave a positive appreciation to the projects implemented by OIM that aimed a better management of the migrants’ inflow and the protection of the Moldovan migrants from abroad, declaring for the development of constructive collaboration relationships.
According to different source, 500 thousand up to 1 million Moldovan emigrated, temporarily or permanently, to seek for a better life.
