More people found jobs in a single month than there are unemployed people receiving social assistance benefits, in a first for the National Employment Agency ANOFM.

The Agency said that in April, it facilitated the employment of 1,947 people. Also during this period, 1,914 unemployed people received social assistance benefits, by 9,746 fewer compared to April last year.

Since the beginning of 2024, more than 5,000 people looking for a job have been employed through ANOFM. 785 of them are in the 55-63 age category, 76 people are disabled, and 21 are of Roma ethnicity.

ANOFM advises jobseekers to contact its territorial divisions to receive employment support. The services are free and available to the unemployed as well as to employed people seeking to change jobs.
