IMF Mission Concludes Its Work
Giuseppe Lombardo, Consulting Counsel at the IMF’s Legal Department concluded his mission in Moldova. He has staid in Chisinau for two days, June 12-14.
According to the IMF Official, the primary goal of the mission was to provide legal advice and technical assistance to the Moldovan authorities with reference to anti money laundering matters.
During his visit Lombardo met with the First Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy and Trade, the management and staff of the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption and of the National Bank of Moldova, as well as officials from the European Commission’s Delegation to Moldova, the Council of Europe, and the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau.
Lombardo will report his findings and recommendations to the Legal Department of the Fund, which will provide them to Moldovan authorities.
