IMF executive director notes positive evolution in dialogue with RM authorities

The executive director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Jeroen Kremers, states that there were registered positive evolutions in Moldova in last 2 years, including authorities’ dialogue with IMF. IMF representative stated this during the meeting with the president of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, according to presidency. According to it, Kremers also saluted the position of Moldovan authorities in keeping the objective of fighting corruption and economic felonies as priorities. IMF official appreciated the importance of implementing by certain strategic FMI programs a, such as SCERS, the Action Plan Moldova-European Union, Millennium Challenges, IMF Cooperation Program, which complete each other and are based on country’s needs. The same source refers to President Vladimir Voronin who noted that favorable changes are due to maturation of political class of Moldova, as well as the accumulated experience, especially in picking up and implementing the mechanism of the free market, changing principles of staff policy by promoting young specialists with modern vision. The head of the state informed Kremers about the National Program „Moldovan Village”, which at the moment is part of SCERS, referred to the opportunity of promoting certain micro-crediting projects of agricultural units and farmers, other projects, in the context of poverty that affected especially the rural sector and small towns.
