The First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia, Ilie Uzun, says that those who searched his house showed "aggressive and naughty behavior" and his wife ended up in hospital after the raids. In a comment to the press Ilie Uzun described the actions of law enforcement bodies as pressure from the government and said that he had similar experiences "during Plahotniuc's time" in 2014, IPN reports.
"They do this so that I don't express my views," the first deputy chairman of the Gagauz Executive Committee said. Following the searches, computers, telephones and his wife's home appliances were seized from the house.
According to Ilie Uzun, the authorities are trying to put him under pressure through the file opened in his wife's name, but they will not succeed. "I am calm because we are not breaking the law. My wife conducts her business according to legal regulations, we pay all taxes, so we have nothing to fear", Ilie Uzun said. The First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia said that he is waiting for the results of the investigations and will take measures in accordance with the legal provisions.
