Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu welcomed the European Commission’s decision to recommend the EU member states to open accession negotiations with Moldova. “This decision makes us to be more resolute in the process of transforming the Republic of Moldova by the reforms we do, “Igor Grosu posted in the social media.

According to Speaker, the reforms that are done are intended primarily for the citizens, who deserve to live in a safe and free country. “The European Union is not only a better future for our children. The European Union means a better present for the Moldovans, a strong economy, developed villages and towns, safety and security, reliable friends. We have a clear road in front of us. We know where we go – we want to build a European Moldova at home. We will succeed by unity, wise choices and a lot of work,” said Igor Grosu.

On November 8, the European Commission recommended that the Council of the EU should open accession negotiations with Moldova. The announcement was made by the President of the European Commission Union Ursula von der Leyen, who presented the EU’s Enlargement Report. A final decision on the opening of negotiations with Moldova will be taken by the member states at the December 14-15 meeting of the European Council.
