Alexandru Dodon, the brother of ex-President Igor Dodon, the leader of the Party of Socialists, was arrested last night at the Chisinau International Airport. The information was confirmed to IPN by the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office Violina Moraru.

Igor Dodon commented on his brother's arrest, noting that it is a continuation of the reprisals organized by the ruling party PAS. According to the politician, tens and hundreds of people involved in documented criminal acts enter the country and travel freely, but the goal here is different – to exert political pressure on him.

"We will resist this time as well. And we will prove that justice is on our side. I reiterate for those who are in power: if you have a political score to settle – fight with me, not with my mother, wife and brother," wrote the politician.
