"At present, the relaunch of relations between Moldova and Russia is fully underway, the dialogue at Government and Parliament level is being restored." The statement belongs to President Igor Dodon and was made at the Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum, which is being held these days in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The head of state attended the event, together with the Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, and the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of trade and economic relations with the Republic of Moldova, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Kozak. According to the president, the event demonstrates that, at the level of the leadership of the two countries, it is clear that one should proceed further.
"Our citizens advocate for a balanced foreign policy and pragmatic relations with all external partners. At the same time, Moldova can be an active participant in the Great Europe project from Lisbon to Vladivostok and can provide an example for other countries,” the president noted.
Also, Igor Dodon participated, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitri Kozak, in the meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Economic Council, which took place within the framework of the Economic Forum. "We thanked the Russian guests for their interest in the Republic of Moldova and for their willingness to contribute to the development of our country's economy. I also mentioned the high level of organization of the event and stressed that the current Forum brought together about one thousand representatives of the business environment from Moldova and Russia, much more than the previous year's edition,” says the head of state.
Igor Dodon also mentioned that the primary task is to restore the volume of bilateral trade with Russia at the level of 2014. In his opinion, for this, it is necessary to take more technical measures so that Moldovan products comply with the existing standards.
