President Igor Dodon said that during the presidential election campaign he will neither attend events as head of state, nor will he attend official meetings, including weekly meetings with the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament. Igor Dodon added that he will no longer award state distinctions during this period and will not use the presidential state car.

"Recently, I heard a lot of speculation about possible use of administrative resources. Let me repeat: we have no interest in generating any doubts in regard to these elections", said Igor Dodon during the latest episode of his vlog.

According to Igor Dodon, the state car will not be used during the campaign period. He will rent a car using campaign funds, which will be used for travel around the country. Igor Dodon's photographer and camera operator will go on vacation; however, they will accompany the candidate at campaigning events, while operating private cameras.

Igor Dodon pointed out that the president, according to the Electoral Code, has no obligation to suspend his activity. According to him, this procedure is complicated. Moreover, in addition to his constitutional rights, he also has many duties, which must be fulfilled, especially during the ongoing drought and pandemic.
