President Igor Dodon says the justice reform which is currently developed by the Government must contain clear criteria on how the general prosecutor can be removed from office, if necessary. Igor Dodon mentioned on "Secrets of power" show, Jurnal TV, that until now there was no legal leverage to do so, IPN reports.
"Now, if we implement this reform, the levers, the reasons, and the removal procedure must be very clearly stipulated. If he is appointed for life, he can do as he pleases, but it should not be like this” the president said.
The president says that, after the reform of the prosecutor's office and the proposed amendments for the second reading in the Parliament are voted, the agreement between the Party of Socialists and ACUM bloc concerning their further governing could be signed. "If ACUM Bloc members do not want to be further part of a coalition with PSRM, it is their decision. I support the maintenance of this government," the head of state said.
In the opinion of the head of state, the governing coalition must continue its activity in the current composition. However, Igor Dodon says that if ACUM bloc partners decide it must stop, then so be it." I believe this government has to keep going and we will support it. However, I have very important questions to many ministries,” noted Igor Dodon.
Also, the head of state says that next week he intends to come to the plenary with a "sincere message", but did not specify what he will talk about.
Igor Dodon says that in the near future he is planning a visit to the United States of America, where he might also meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and most likely bring up the issue of Turkish teachers detention and extradition to the Turkish authorities.
