Moldova's President Igor Dodon says he has voted for a mayor who knows what needs to be done for Chisinau. After exercising the right to vote, the head of state has told journalists that "the time when demagogy ruled at municipality leadership level is over and things must get back to normal", IPN reports.
"I also feel confident that, maybe even today, things will change for the better in Chisinau," the president said.
Igor Dodon has urged all citizens to be active today, because a lot depends on this vote. If parliamentary elections could be organized ahead of time, local elections, says Igor Dodon, are held only once in four years therefore one must go to the polls.
Local elections are considered validated if they are attended by ¼ of the number of voters registered on the electoral lists.
