Igor Dodon: I voted, as usual, for a solid and stable Moldova

“I voted, as usual, for a solid and stable Moldova. I voted for economic development, for the maintaining of the political development of Moldova. I voted for balance in the relations with our foreign friends and partners. I’m firmly convinced that most of our citizens are for this,” said incumbent President Igor Dodon, who is running for a new term in office, IPN reports.

The independent candidate who is supported by the Party of Socialists said that now more than ever the Republic of Moldova should stay far from chaos and destabilization. He called on the citizens to go and vote notwithstanding the bad weather.

As to the allegations that Transnistrian citizens were paid to vote, Igor Dodon said the current campaign witnessed different assertions and provocations. As to the attempt to block access to a polling station in Varnița, the candidate said the real face of those who say they are pro-European politicians is seen.

Igor Dodon was accompanied by his wife. Galina Dodon said she voted first of all for a responsible President.

The polls are open until 9pm. If need be, their program will be extended for two hours. As many as 2 807 182 citizens eligible to vote are expected to go to the polls today. A minimum voter turnout of one third of the voters put on the register of voters is needed for the elections to be validated.
