President of Moldova Igor Dodon is ready to present a nationwide compressive program that would support the family and would promote the family values in society. “As many of the social problems are based on the economic factor, society can be revitalized by solving of the socioeconomic problems,” stated President Dodon. He noted that the demographic problems can be solved by close cooperation between the state and the church. The statements were made in the World Congress of Families held in Chișinău on September 14, IPN reports.
According to Igor Dodon, the given program will involve the education institutions, social services, creation unions, the Orthodox Church and other religious organizations, civil society and the mass media. A broad social protection program for the family should include the extension of the maternity leave, augmentation of the maternal capital, payment of “family salaries” to one of the parents, creation of appropriate conditions for the women to be able to combine work and care for children.
“Last year I launched a presidential initiative on maternal capital. Regrettably, the current Parliament rejected this and other social initiatives designed to strengthen the family. I think the next Parliament will show more patriotism and social responsibility and will not leave the initiative on maternal capital without attention,” stated President Dodon.
He noted that the institution of the family in Moldova is subject to erosion by depopulation, mass migration, the rise in the number of divorces and abortions, the social unsafety of families. The “antifamily” ideology that is artificially implanted in the whole world, including with the involvement of international organizations, is the biggest threat to the family.
“The philosophy that envisions the consolidation of the family based on the traditional family values should be an alternative to the antifamily ideology that is actively propagated. Our motto is “Each child should be brought up and educated only in the family, while the family is exclusively an alliance between a man and a woman, a father and a mother,” stated Igor Dodon.
He expressed his regret at the fact that not all the people share the view that the traditional family values should be kept, especially those who promote phenomena that offend against the public morality and values. “I’m convinced that such propaganda should not exist in our society. The festivals and other events that contribute to spreading immoral principals should be firmly condemned and even outlawed. In this connection, I declare that I’m ready to support all the organizations and associations of parents that were created to protect the children against negative influence,” said President Dodon.
He noted that 2019 is the Year of the Family in the Republic of Moldova.
