Igor Dodon attends the international conference in fighting pandemics
The deputy minister of economics and commerce, Igor Dodon will attend, on 28 February - 1 March 2006 the international conference „Solidarity and Globalisations: innovating finances for development and against pandemics”, held in la Paris, France.
According to a report of the Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the conference has as goal to mobilise the international community to fight pandemics as HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and bird flu.
„Preventing the wide spreading of pandemics becomes imperious in the context of alarming global situation, and the meeting of Paris has as goal to find certain joint economic solutions and innovating financing sources in developing, with later launching, new cooperation projects,” Igor Dodon said before leaving.
It is important for Moldova to participate in the works of the international conference in Paris in order to reiterate its will to cooperate in this field and to present problems relevant to Moldova’s situation, which is surrounded by focuses of avian flu of Romania, Ukraine, Turkey.
The conference is organised under the high supervision of the French President, Jacques Chirac, and the organisers are the Ministries of Economics and Finances and Foreign Affairs of France.
