Igor Dodon against buying cars for senior officials
Socialist MP Igor Dodon is against the purchase of three new cars for the country’s administration by the State Guard Service. At the lawmaker’s request, the Service’s director Igor Bodorin presented a report in Parliament on May 10, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Igor Bodorin, the state would spend about 500,000 lei on the repair of the cars of the President, Speaker and the Prime Minister because they are very old. Therefore, it is more convenient to buy new vehicles.
Igor Dodon stressed that the three new vehicles cost about 5 million lei. “We consider that the purchase of these cars is not a priority. Instead of spending over half a million lei on the repair of the Mercedes, the Premier should get out of it and go on foot. What sources are these cars paid from?” he inquired.
Igor Bodorin said that the vehicles will be bought with money from the budget of the State Guard Service for this year. “This is an appropriate decision. New cars must be purchased as the old ones endanger the lives of the senior officials and of those driving them,” he stated.
