The PCRM’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau, MP Igor Dodon accuses his Liberal opponent Dorin Chirtoaca of corruption, misappropriation and traffic of influence at the City Hall. He lodged a challenge with the Prosecutor General’s Office, informing about these violations, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Dodon said he can prove five cases of corruption at the City Hall for which Dorin Chirtoaca is to blame, including the illegal scheme to supply fuel to the municipal companies. Dodon stated the given enterprises buy fuel from a company that belongs to Mihai Ghimpu and that reported revenues of 500,000 lei from dividends. “It is not clear why the public procurement procedure was violated in this case. This is evidently traffic of influence,” said Igor Dodon. He also said that in the road infrastructure area, the City Hall makes purchases from a single source – SA Edilitate that repaired Alba Iulia St at a cost of about 28 million lei. The examination showed the works were performed with serious deviations from the generally accepted standards. Igor Dodon stated that Dorin Chirtoaca, as a mayor, banned extending the advertising areas in the city. However, he allowed the company “Aldor-Art”, which belongs to Dorin Chirtoaca’s brother Lucian Chirtoaca according to Igor Dodon, to set up an external advertising device in the Great National Assembly Square, violating thus the regulations on advertisement placing in Chisinau. The Communist lawmaker also accused Dorin Chirtoaca of encouraging fraudulent schemes to sell minibus routes, involving officials of the City Hall and SRL “Ruta-Prim”. He said he has proofs that the trolleybuses were bought with violations. Igor Dodon pledged to provide evidence for the accusations he made, including for such projects as “First House”, “Wastewater Treatment Station”, and “Valea Morilor”.
