Regardless of the statements, the PDM will simply not have what to propose in a possible election campaign. Such an opinion was stated by political analyst Anatol Taranu, who heads the Political Consultancy and Analysis Center “Politicon”. “The main players want the Government to be kept. The Government’s dismissal will be perceived negatively by the European partners and will affect the implementation of reforms,” the analyst stated for Info-Prim Neo. Anatol Taranu said the politicians must think very carefully how to act in the March 5 sitting of Parliament, when the censure motion against the Government is put to the vote. “In case of early legislative elections, the favorites may be Vlad Filat and Vladimir Voronin. A parliamentary majority will be formed around the Communists or the Liberal-Democrats. An agreement between the two parties is excluded. The PLDM will not accept as it will damage its image. The same is true about the Communists,” said the director of “Politicon”. Anatol Taranu believes that if the early elections are caused now, the Liberals will have a very complicated election campaign because they will have to provide many explanations, especially why they allowed being associated with the mafia. “The Liberal Party will have a difficult campaign, but its voters will secure it seats in Parliament. However, the Liberals will not have more seats than now,” said the analyst. According to him, the situation of the PDM is more complicated as it can experience complete failure in a new election campaign. In the March 5 sitting, the lawmakers will debate the censure motion against the Government put forward by the Communists. The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu repeatedly demanded that the Premier should resign. Otherwise, the PDM will propose it own motion or will vote for the motion of another party.
