The local public authorities of Iasi donated 200,000 Romanian lei (over 800,000 Moldovan lei) to the Chisinau City Hall for containing the COVID-19 pandemic. The municipality said the money will be allocated for purchasing medical equipment and consumables, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Chisinau City Hall.

“I appreciate this gesture a lot as the situation over the Prut is not at all easy and substantial financial resources are needed to fight the COVID-19 outbreak,” said mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban.

The money donated by Iasi will be distributed to medical institutions based in Chisinau that are involved in the treatment of persons infected with the novel coronavirus.
