A lot of people await Vlad Plahotnuc (former president of the Democratic Party, e.n.) in the Republic of Moldova so that he could be charged and held accountable for all those years of usurpation of power in the state, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying in the program “President Responds”.

The official noted he shares the prosecutors’ opinion that Vlad Plahotnuc took part in the bank fraud. All the related documents were transmitted to the partners in the U.S. so that they could take a corresponding decision (extradition, e.n.).

“This week, we heard the position of U.S. Ambassador Hogan, who said that the PGO’s request to hand over Plahotniuc to the Moldovan forces is being examined. I hope this procedure will take place soon, during the next few months,” stated President Dodon.

He also said that Vlad Plahotniuc is trying to escape by buying MPs and taking other actions through the agency of his “marionettes”. Igor Dodon named here those from the Shor Party, Andrian Candu, Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase, while outside Parliament Renato Usatyi, Vladimir Voronin and others.

“The task is clear – to try to play a particular role in the current Parliament and to do everything possible to block all the initiatives of President Dodon. Currently, Plahotniuc is at war only with the Socialists, only with Dodon. I can suppose that he tries to play in order to help Maia Sandu. Maybe he promised to the Americans that he will help her in the presidential elections,” noted Igor Dodon.
