How parties reacted to Dodon’s invitation

The Socialist Party, the Democratic Party and the electoral bloc NOW “took note” of the invitation to dialog made earlier today by President Igor Dodon, but avoided to clearly answer if it will be accepted.

Vasile Bolea, secretary of the Socialist parliamentary group, told IPN this wasn’t discussed yet with the party’s president Zinaida Greceanîi, but added that the Socialists would “probably” accept.

Democratic Party spokesperson Vitalie Gamurari said the Democrats “took note” of this initiative, adding that the party remained always open to dialogue and would “most likely” accept the president’s invitation, Gamurari also said the party would discuss internally today or tomorrow who to delegate to the State Residency.

NOW PM Mihai Popșoi said the bloc “took note” of the invitation, but a decision would be made after discussions between the bloc’s component parties.

President Dodon announced he was waiting the leaderships of the three political entities to join him for talks, one party at a time, tomorrow at the State Residency on Iorga Street, to discuss the situation “of the political vacuum in Moldova that cannot go on forever”.
