Following yesterday’s rain, the rescuers were called to provide assistance to people whose homes and cellars were flooded, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the rescuers offered aid in the towns Rascani and Causeni and in the villages Zaim and Salcuta of Causeni district, Colicauti of Briceni district and Gordinesti and Cuconestii Noi of Edinet district. In Cuconestii Noi, the rain damaged crops in nine gardens, while the high wind tore away roof slates.

The rescuers also towed away an ambulance that got stuck in Baimaclia, Causeni. In Balti town, teams of rescuers and firefighters cleaned the pluvial drainage channels that were blocked. Thus, the flooding of streets in the town was avoided.
