Holders of state awards entitled to allowances even if they do not live in Moldova

The right to receive nominal allowances was extended to cover all the Moldovan citizens who were given state awards, either they live in the Republic of Moldova or nor. Parliament adopted a bill to this effect after giving it two readings, IPN reports.

The bill provides that all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who hold such state awards as the Order of the Republic and the Order “Ștefan cel Mare” are entitled to nominal allowances and allowances for special merits.

According to data of the National House of Social Insurance, 113 more persons will be entitled to such allowances now that this right was extended. The law will be implemented at a cost of about 74,000 lei.

The law takes effect when it is published in the Official Gazette.
