Higher balance of credits to Moldovan economy
The balance of credits to Moldovan economy for the moth of June increased by 414.8 million lei (2.6%), constituting about 16.4 billion lei.
According to the Central Bank, this evolution was generated by the increase of the balance of credits extended in national currency by 127.6 million lei (1.3%), as well as in foreign currency (expressed in MDL) by 287.2 million lei (4.6%).
Expressed in USD, the balance of credits constituted USD 531.2 million, increased by USD 29.5 million (5.9%) comparing to the month of May 2007.
The volume of credits equaled in MDL for the month of June 2007 constituted 1111.2 million lei, increased by 0.6 million lei (0.1%) compared to the previous month. In June 2007 the average interest rate on credits in national currency increased by 0.17 percentage points, up to 18.98%.
The value of credits in foreign currency extended to business constituted 945.3 million lei (the equivalent of USD 76.9 million, by USD 4.8 million less than the previous month). The average interest rate on credits in foreign currency extended to business stood stable, constituting 11% in June 2007.
