Higher amount for early intervention services intended for children

The early intervention services intended for children will this year be financed with 16 million lei allocated from the mandatory health insurance funds, by over 11 million lei more than last year. The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) said the amount was increased because the need for services intended for children with special needs aged between 0 and 3 has grown, IPN reports.

This year, the number of service providers contracted to offer early intervention services for children also rose. The area where this type of services that is covered by the mandatory health insurance will be provided was extended and now includes also the districts of Ungheni and Cahul, the CNAM noted in a press release.

Out of ten service providers contracted at national level, six are public medical institutions, while four are public associations, namely the Early Intervention Center “Voinicel”, the Association for Child Assistance “ASCODE”, “Moldova AID” and the Foundation “Tony Hawks Centru”.

The parents or legal carers of children with special needs aged between 0 and 3 can go to these specialized institutions to seek free early intervention services provided by the multidisciplinary team.
