High-level Official of EU to pay a visit to Moldova
Director General for External Relations at the European Commission, Eneko Landaburu will pay a work visit to Moldova on July 13-14. This is the first time that a Director General for External Relations at the European Commission visits Moldova.
During his visit Landaburu will meet President Voronin, President of the Parliament Marian Lupu, Prime Deputy Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianii, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan and Minister of Economy and Trade Valeriu Lazar. Landaburu will also inaugurate the new European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) Field Office in Chisinau.
According to a press release of the representative of the European Commission in Moldova, the visit of the official is a sign of strengthened relations between the EU and Moldova and is intended to confirm the EU strong support for Moldova and its reform process through the implementation of the European Neighbourhood Policy Action Plan, which was jointly agreed in February 2005.
