Suppliers are asking for an increase in charges for the thermal energy supplied to the inhabitants of Chisinau and Balti municipalities. The companies "Termoelectrica" and "CET-Nord" submitted charge adjustment requests to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, IPN reports.

"Termoelectrica" proposes to increase the charge from 1,824 to 2564 lei (excluding VAT) for one gigacalorie. The difference is of 740 lei.

“CET-Nord” requests an increase of 793 lei in the charge to 2,612 lei (excluding VAT) for a gigacalorie, up from 1,819 lei at present.

At the end of November, the National Agency for Energy Regulation approved an increase of 3.4 lei in the natural gas charge to 15.5 lei per cubic meter. With VAT, the charge is 16.74 lei.

The adjusted rates entered into force on December 1.
