Heart of TV man Constantin Partac ceases

Being only 56, the heart of the journalist Constantin Partac stopped beating last night, unable to fight a hard and enduring disease. He left for heaven where he is expected by his parents brother and sister who died this year, too. He has passed away in the same calm manner, as he has fought his disease for years, not allowing it to hinder him as a man and professional. After graduating from the Journalism Faculty in 1974, Constantin Partac rendered himself to television. He was the general director of the National TV from 1990 to 1994. Little before dying he was elected as chairman of the National Ethics Commission of Journalists. A former colleague, the president of the APEL Broadcasters Association, Alexandru Dorogan, has told Info-Prim Neo that Constantin Partac was a man of rigid principles and had a big trust in the journalist's ideals. He was pure, multilaterally endowed, able to deal with any other job in journalism, but he chose the television. He has made films, unique programs, has been a TV critic and a good analyst. “It was the television's luck to have such a man as Constantin Partac,” Dorogan said. A good friend, the president of the Journalists Union (JUM), Valeriu Saharneanu, says he has grown as a professional together with Partac, servicing the same institution which fired them both. “They wanted to send us to reserves, but Costica has fought not only the disease, but all the atrocities, winning in the long run. He's been one of the best journalists, who knew to share his talent with others, although he was not needed by the television he managed during the years when it became one of the best and most watched,” said the JUM president. Constantin Partac was the author and laid the basis of the Public Broadcasting in the situation when there was no special law. Another TV colleague, Marcel Lungu, said he deplored the death of Constantin Partac , who was a man of innate intelligence, a peasant intelligence, which was only polished by the studies he made. The National Television, when led by Constantin Partac, enjoyed the highest appreciation and credibility in its history, as his principles envisaged the respect of political pluralism, fairness and professionalism, the concept that the television's mission is to defend the public interest and to inform correctly and impartially on the ruling act. Certainly, everything Constantin Partac made, wrote and promoted is a priceless heritage of the journalistic guild from Moldova and not only, an example of a life lived justly and with dignity, JUM writes in a release. An appreciated professional, Constantin Partac leaves a painful gap in the friends' heart. He will be buried on Sunday in the cemetery of Truseni village, Chisinau mun.
