Head of state convenes Supreme Security Council

The Supreme Security Council, convoked today, May 28, by President Nicolae Timofti, recommended the competent bodies of the state to work out a new national security strategy that would correspond to the current security climate in the country and the region and to strengthen the national capacities to prevent and counteract new risks to security, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, in the meeting officials of the Ministry of the Interior, the Security and Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Prosecutor General’s Office presented reports on a wide range of national security-related problems. No other details were provided.
