The Board of the Security and Information Service (SIS) of Moldova recommended the Service’s administration to suspend the head of the SIS Local Division in Gagauzia. Such a decision was taken in an extraordinary meeting on August 4, which centered on the inappropriate fulfillment by Mihail Jelezoglo of his duties, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the SIS, after examining the thematic reports, the members of the Board established that the head of the SIS Local Division in Gagauzia Mihail Jelezoglo groundlessly delayed the presentation of information of major interest concerning state security.
The Board classed Mihail Jelezoglo’s acts as contrary to the law on the status of the information and security officer, implicitly to the relevant deontological norms, and recommended the SIS administration to suspend him from post for the period of the investigation.
