The administrator of a car rental company was detained after allegedly embezzling funds of the company and cheating a woman with physical disabilities, the total damage being estimated at 1.3 million lei, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said that the illegalities were committed in 2023-2024. More precisely, the cash paid by the company's customers was illegally appropriated by the administrator. It goes to about 700,000 lei.

Also, through breach of trust, the individual convinced a woman with physical disabilities to invest 650,000 lei in the managed company. Therefore, the law enforcement officers searched his home, office and cars, from where they also seized documents and contracts confirming the man's guilt.

The administrator was detained for 72 hours. At the request of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, he was placed in preventive detention for 30 days.
