Halotan medicine will be used again

The drug Halotan, which was banned after a child went into a coma, while another one died after being administered this medicine, will be put in circulation again. Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi Thursday said the tests showed the drug is inoffensive, Info-Prim Neo reports. The medicine is of a high quality and does not pose a danger to patients, but it is the doctors who will decide whether to administer it or not, said the minister, adding that Halotan is used in many countries and is not considered dangerous. A child experienced anaphylactic shock and had been in a coma for two months after Halotan was administered to him. Another child suffered a cardiac arrest. The investigation into the two cases goes on.
