As a result of inspections carried out in the course of last week, the authorities decided to close 16 hairdressers, seven drugstores and four private medical institutions, one of which is a dental surgery. Also, five trading units were closed after public health specialists identified different violations of the norms concerning the prevention of infections with the novel coronavirus, IPN reports.
Vice director of the National Public Health Agency Vasile Gushtyuk told a news conference that almost 500 entities that provide different services were inspected. It was established that most of them do not fulfill the condition to check the state of health of employees before they start work. Some of the employees were caught working without gloves, masks and visors. There was crowdedness inside trading units, but this is banned.
He also said that 12 contravention reports were compiled and fines totaling over 100,000 lei were imposed.
Vladislav Cotici, director general of the National Food Safety Agency, noted the inspectors carried out over 1,580 checks at food units and identified more than 460 irregularities. Over 40 serious cases were documented and remitted to the police. As of June 15, when the hospitality industry resumed work, inspectors have examined 95 units and found 17 irregularities, two of which serious ones.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Home Affairs Sergiu Golovach said that about 10,000 employees were mobilized, including service members. They monitor the situation at public transport stations so as to prevent crowdedness on units of transport in the rush hour and to make sure that the passengers wear masks when they get on. Outside the rush hour, they patrol public places. The markets are also among the problematic places as not all the visitors are responsible.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Konstantin Rymish stated that there are erroneous interpretations as to the work of the hospitality industry. The recreation places and activities and the holding of ceremonies are further banned.
Currently, the infections with the novel coronavirus in Moldova total 12,732 after a record number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 was reported on June 17 – 478. Ten persons lost the battle with the disease yesterday.
