The Guard of Honor of the National Army on June 22 celebrates 25 years of the foundation, IPN reports. In the ceremony staged in the square before the Ministry of Defense to celebrate the event, Lieutenant Major Vitalie Josan said June 22 is a special day for the sons of the homeland, who have had the courage to serve the people of the Republic of Moldova under the sun, in rain, wind and snow.
“These are the members of the Guard of Honor. The flag of our country was carried proudly by our service members abroad. I want to say that it is not easy, but we succeed in doing everything together, as a result of daily training,” stated Vitalie Josan.
Eduard Ohladciuc, deputy chief of the General Staff of the National Army, said the members of the Guard of Honor accomplished the missions entrusted to them and honorably represented Moldova at military parades in Romania, Bulgaria and France. Such results are due to thousands of hours of training in cold, snow, rain and wind.
Ruslan Flocea, secretary general of the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova, transmitted President Igor Dodon’s congratulatory message. He said the President is proud of the personnel of the Guard of Honor owing to the patriotic spirit of these. “Your professionalism and conduct are justly considered examples worth being followed,” Igor Dodon said in his message.
In a congratulatory message transmitted by the Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu says dignity, discipline and honor are key values for each service member. Prime Minister Pavel Filip in his message says he feels proud every time he looks at the Guard of Honor. “You are a model of how the country should be served, with honor and dignity,” said the Premier.
