Group of jurists provide free advice on migration to Russia

The Moldovans who plan to move to Russia to work or live can ask for free legal advice from the jurists of the Project “90180.ru” before leaving Moldova.

In a news conference at IPN, Irina Smirnova, first deputy head of the Party of Regions of Moldova, said that by this project the team aims to fight illegal migration and to legalize the work of Moldovan migrants in Moscow.

“We all know the difficult situation in which Moldovan citizens find themselves when they leave the country. When they go to another country, they usually do not know the legislation and become thus victims of swindlers, violating the legislation on migration. As a result, heavy fines are imposed on them and they are banned from entering the country for a period of five years and more,” stated Irina Smirnova.

The name of the project derives from law No. 90180, which has been applied on the territory of the Russian Federation since January 2014. Under this law, a foreigner without a visa can stay in Russia for a period of 90 days during 180 days. For a longer stay, the person should obtain a work patent or a long-stay visa, when they go to study, for example.

Those who have questions about migration for work purposes in Russia can seek free legal advice in the office located at 22 Traian Blvd in Chisinau.

The project was launched by the manager of the Regional Public Organization Alexandr Kalinin. About 200 persons have asked for advice during a month of the launch of the project.
