Grigore Petrenco: It is nonsense to discuss proposal withdrawn by PCRM in Parliament
Communist MP Grigore Petrenco in a news conference said it is nonsense to debate in Parliament the PCRM’s proposal to amend the procedure for electing the head of state now that this proposal was withdrawn by the authors.
“We cannot discuss something that does not exist. This proposal does no longer exist. It was withdrawn from Parliament. If the proposal was withdrawn by the authors it means that it does not exist,” said the Communist lawmakers.
A day ago, the leader of the Liberal parliamentary group Ion Hadarca said the proposal will most probably be included in the agenda of Thursday’s sitting of the legislative body.
The Communist group withdrew its proposal on February 2, saying it is no more viable in the created situation. Earlier, the Communists proposed holding three rounds of voting for electing the head of state, with only 51 votes in the last round. Now they say the candidate should be elected by a unanimous vote.
