The Chisinau Appeals Court decided that the former president of Banca de Economii Grigore Gachkevich will be transferred from the remand unit under house arrest, IPN reports.

The release of Gachkevich from the remand unit of the National Anticorruption Center was requested by his lawyers who challenged the arrest warrant for 30 days issued by the Buiucani Court against their client.

Gachkevich was arrested on May 22 on suspicion of involvement in the provision of bad loans by Banca de Economii. The arrest warrant was issued later the same day.
