From January 1, 2025 the Green Card insurance certificate can be presented in digital format. Drivers no longer need to carry the paper version. Drivers of cars registered in Moldova can travel abroad in most of the member states of the "Green Card" system only with the digital certificate, IPN reports.
The Green Card issued until November 1, 2024, in printed format, remains valid for the entire specified period.
The National Bureau of Motor Insurers notes that three of the more than 40 member countries of the "Green Card" system - Lithuania, Luxembourg and Portugal - have not yet adjusted their regulations for the digital-only certificate. As a result, drivers who will travel through the three countries must also carry the printed version of the document.
