Green Future Conference: Green policies needed for the country's future

The Green Future Conference 2025 gathered today in Chisinau business leaders, environmental policy experts and authorities to discuss concrete solutions for the transition to a sustainable economy. The event, now in its second edition, focuses on sustainable development and the integration of circular economy principles, IPN reports.

According to the organizers, as environmental protection is becoming a pressing global concern, the conference aims to facilitate collaboration between the private sector, authorities and international organizations to increase the adoption of "green policies".

Among the main themes addressed at the conference are decarbonization of the economy, integration of ESG criteria - environmental, social and governance - into business and efficient resource management.

The discussions are structured in several panels on key aspects of the green transition.

The first panel, moderated by AmCham's Executive Director, Mila Malairau, analyzes the alignment of national policies with European standards and their impact on the business environment.

Petru Tataru, representative of the Ministry of Environment, spoke about the legislative measures needed to achieve sustainability objectives. Cristina Pereteatcu, from the Ministry of Energy, presented innovations and regulations in the energy sector.

The importance of public-private partnerships for the implementation of green solutions was noted by Eco Garden Construct, Mircea Craciun.

Another panel, moderated by Vasile Stepanuc, Policy Manager at AmCham Moldova, focused on technological innovations in the field of sustainability. Experts from various sectors present innovative solutions for integrating green technologies in business and manufacturing.

At the Green Award Gala, companies and organizations that significantly contribute to the development of a sustainable economy will be honored.

The event is organized with the support of the European Union's Green Transition Programme. At the same time, the initiative is part of a broad effort to adapt to European requirements in the context of Moldova's EU accession negotiations.

The organizers note that the Green Future Conference aims to become a reference platform for the promotion of green economy and sustainable partnerships, strengthening the collaboration between all actors involved in building a cleaner and sustainable future.
