The Christmas tree of the Government was placed behind the National Palace of Chisinau, near the fountain. Workers said the fir tree was brought and installed in the evening of December 5, but it is not known when it will be adorned.

Contacted by IPN, the Government’s press service said information about the fir tree and the Christmas fair will be provided immediately after the program is finalized and approved by the executive.

Small wooden houses are being built near the fir tree for vendors who will sell at the Christmas fair. There is also put up a skating rink. The workers said everything must be ready by December 15.

The idea of setting up a Christmas fair on 31 August St was put forward by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. As usual, the New Year’s Eve concert will be held in the Great National Assembly Square, where the Christmas tree of Chisinau municipality was inaugurated on December 4.
