Government intends to initiate large scale restoration works of important national culture sites: monasteries of Capriana, Curchi, Condrita, home-museums Donici, Stamati and the Museum of Arts. In order to do so, the Cabinet of Ministers approved in its last meeting the creation of the Agency for inspection and restoration of the monuments, that will be responsible for the execution of the mentioned tasks. The Agency will work within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) and will have a staff of 7. The project has been approved Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Finances and the Agency for Construction and Development. Within two months MCT has to elaborate and approve the activity regulations for the agency. There are 66 museums and over 52 monasteries in the Republic of Moldova.
