The Government formally started negotiations on a Memorandum of Understanding with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to implement the “Making the Most of Migration. Phase Two” Program, IPN reports.

This is a four-year extension of a Program that aims to boost the positive impact that migration can have on Moldova’s socioeconomic development by improving the institutional framework and engaging the diaspora in the life and development of their home country.
 
In particular, the funds provided by Switzerland will be used to implement the project “Strengthening the Institutional Framework for Migration and Development in Moldova”, implemented by the Diaspora Relations Bureau, as well as the “Migration and Local Development” Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program.

Switzerland will contribute a total 6.13 million euros through this Program.
