Government press service denies that Prime Minister ordered stopping horning on weddings

The Government press service published on Monday, 19 June, a press statement, denying the Info-Prim Neo’s news according to which „ Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev urged Chisinau’s Road Police to fight the phenomenon of excessive horning during weddings” on the ground that „the prime minister did not make such a disposal”. „No Government meeting has been interrupted by horns, moreover, the meeting rooms are placed on the opposite side to the Great National Assembly Square, the horns being heard very vaguely”, says the statement. On these grounds, „as well as it unreasonably damaged the image of the Prime Minister and of the Government”, the press service requires „this Agency to deny the broadcasted information, and mass media bodies, which used this news, to publicly announce about the mistake”. By integrally publishing the Statement, Info-Prim Neo complies with the requirement of the government press service. At the same time, the head of the Press Service of the Road Police Department, Victor Gandraman, notes that the initiative to put in practice the provisions of the Road Regulation, banning horning without reasons, comes from the leadership of the Ministry of Interior. According to him, the initiative is worthy as „two persons get married, but other two hundred have to suffer”. Recently, near the Registration Office of the capital notices of the Road Police were placed announcing that utilizing car horns is forbidden, and drivers ignoring this restriction are to be fined.
