The authorities of the Republic of Moldova are working with the local authorities and citizens of the Security Zone to identify their needs, requesting lists of basic necessities. The measures will be supported by budgetary resources and foreign funds, the Bureau for Reintegration Policies said in a response to an inquiry made by IPN News Agency.
"During the state of emergency, through the Commission for Emergency Situations, the necessary action mechanisms are identified and implemented: provision of energy resources, social protection of vulnerable people, facilitation of obtaining of humanitarian aid from international donors, etc.," said the Bureau.
Russia's Gazprom said it will stop gas exports to Moldova from January 1, citing unpaid debts. All deliveries from Gazprom to Moldova are directed to the Transnistrian region. The cessation of gas supplies will affect 11 localities in the Security Zone that are under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova and are connected to the "Tiraspoltransgaz" networks. These are the villages of Hârbovăț and Varnița in Anenii Noi district, the villages of Cocieri, Cosnita, Doroțcaia, Molovata Nouă, Pârâta, Pohrebea and Vasilievca in Dubăsari district and the villages of Copanca, Hagimus and Fârlădeni in Căușeni district. Also, the secondary schools in the villages of Roghi and Corjova in Dubăsari district are supplied with gas from the left bank of the Nistru River.
