Government managed to maintain economic stability in Moldova, opinion

The government managed to maintain the economic stability in the country . At the same time, it didn’t manage to obtain the whole external financing intended for Moldova, politologist Anatol Taranu was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel.

The expert noted that from the viewpoint of political stability, the first half of the year started very promisingly, but the situation worsened after the Chisinau mayoral elections were invalidated and the street protests reveal political instability. “The year started relatively quietly, but things became uncertain towards the middle of the year,” stated Anatol Taranu.

The head of the Resource Center for Human Rights Sergiu Ostaf said the situation generated by the invalidation of elections should result in the understanding by the whole political class of the necessity of acting in the interests of the citizens. The given situation can be divided into five episodes and particular political solutions existed in each of these episodes. “In the second episode, when the ball was in the judicial system’s court, there were political solutions. If all the political forces, both those from the government and those form the opposition, had combined forced, they could have produced a political solution,” he stated, adding that possibilities of bringing the electoral institution in a position with the biggest possible legitimacy existed at each of the five stages.
