Government looking for judge for Constitutional Court

A contest commission was set up to choose a candidate for the post of judge at the Constitutional Court on behalf of the Government. Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet invited all law experts to submit an application, IPN reports.

“The law provides that the judges of the Constitutional Court are designated proportionally by the President, the Government and Parliament and the executive now must fill a seat at this Court,” the Premier told a press briefing.

Valeriu Strelet said he decided to set up a contest commission for choosing a candidate so as to avoided speculations that the constitutional judges represent particular parties. He encourages all the law specialists to apply to this post.

The chosen candidate is to be confirmed by Parliament.
