Government grants small vacation to public employees
Public employees will have a small, 4-day vacation – from Saturday until Tuesday inclusive – on the occasion of the International Women's Day on March 8, which is a national holiday in Moldova. The decision was adopted earlier by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The draft decision was presented by the only female member of the Cabinet, Labor Minister Valentina Buliga. The modified working program does not apply to the persons and units that work round-the-clock or according to a special schedule.
Instead of Monday, March 7, the public employees will have to go to work on Saturday, March 12.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat remarked that while March 8 is supposed to be a holiday for the ladies, men are usually those who profit from it, referring to the tradition of holding parties on this occasion.
