From now on draft laws will be evaluated to exclude corruption. This idea is the backbone of the Government Decision nr. 977, August 27, regarding corruptibility assessment of legislative bills. In order to create an efficient evaluation mechanism, the Government has approved the Regulation regarding the organization of the process of assessment of susceptibility to corruption. The Center against Economic Crime and Corruption (CCCEC) must elaborate and approve the means by which the corruptibility of bills is evaluated. When requested to provide a comment for this decision, Galina Bostan, director of the Corruption Analysis and Prevention Center, stated that the intention to reduce corruption at the stage of bills is appraisable, yet it is not certain that the mechanism will be effective. This mechanism doesn’t exist at the moment and has to be elaborated and approved by CCCEC. Galina Bostan believes that the Government should approve the methodology, and not CCCEC. The decision has been signed by the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev and approved by the ministers of Internal Affairs, of Economy and Commerce, of Finances and of Justice and is valid since its publication date.
